Admission to postgraduate studies (aspirantura) is carried out on a competitive basis for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who hold higher professional education confirmed by a Specialist’s or Master’s degree diploma.

Foreign citizens and individuals who obtained their education abroad are admitted to the postgraduate program of Osh Technological University provided that the equivalence of their education to the higher professional education of the Kyrgyz Republic is recognized by the competent authorities, on the basis of international treaties duly entered into force, to which the Kyrgyz Republic is a party.

Individuals who have previously completed the full course of postgraduate (aspirantura) studies are not eligible for repeated admission to postgraduate studies.

All applicants to postgraduate studies undergo a preliminary interview with the prospective academic supervisor and the head of the relevant (profile) department. Consent for academic supervision is endorsed on the application for admission to the entrance examinations.

An application for admission to postgraduate studies is submitted in the name of the Rector of Osh Technological University and must be accompanied by the following documents:

• Personal information sheet;
• Copy of the employment record book;
• Copy of the diploma (notarized);
• List of published scientific works;
• Consent of the academic supervisor;
• Photographs, size 3×4 cm — 4 copies;
• Envelope — 1 piece;
• Folder (fastener file);
• Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Osh Technological University (OshTU) offers 9 PhD doctoral programs in the following fields:

520500 – Cartography and Geoinformatics
640200 – Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering
580100 – Economics
750500 – Civil Engineering
610600 – Technology of Processing Agricultural Products
710200 – Information Systems and Technologies
710300 – Applied Informatics
520800 – Environmental Management and Ecology
670300 – Technology of Transport Processes

Application period: from July 10 to October 1.

Entrance examinations: from September 1 to October 5.
Enrollment: until October 10.

Training in the basic doctoral program (PhD / by profile) is conducted on a full-time basis and on a contract (tuition-based) basis.

Applicants must have higher professional education, confirmed by a Master’s or Specialist degree in the relevant field.

List of required documents for admission:

• application addressed to the Rector of OshTU;
• notarized copy of the higher education diploma;
• certificate from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic confirming the level and content of education documents issued by foreign educational institutions;
• passport and military ID (for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic) must be presented in person upon application;
• copy of the employment record book certified by the human resources department at the place of work;
• personal personnel record form confirming work experience (for applicants with work experience);
• four color photographs, size 3×4 cm;
• list of scientific and scientific-methodological publications (if available).

The PhD program includes the following stages:

• theoretical coursework;
• research activities;
• international research internship;
• preparation and defense of the dissertation;
• final attestation.
