Brief history of the department – the department of “Ecology and Environmental Protection” of the Faculty of Technology and Nature Management was organized in 1998 by the decision of the Academic Council of OshTU, as well as on the basis of license № 4 from 15.06. The department has approved curricula of specialties, which are developed according to the standards of KMO KSNU for training bachelors and masters of ecology and nature management with the necessary volume and sequence of disciplines studied, methodological support
seminars, practical and laboratory classes. The curricula were reviewed at
Academic Council of OshTU. Proposed for consideration by the UMO at KGNU, agreed with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic

Scientific activities of the department:
The theme of the research work of the department, “Modern environmental problems of the South of Kyrgyzstan”.
Scientists and teachers of the department are engaged in research studies on environmental problems of Kyrgyzstan. A great deal of work has been done
work on studying the population dynamics of the main pests and diseases of forests of Kyrgyzstan. The main composition of pests and diseases of nut-fruit and juniper forests of Kyrgyzstan was determined. biological methods of pest control based on isolated local strains of crystal-forming bacteria and nuclear polyhedrosis virus.
The research work of the department includes the following main directions:
carrying out fundamental and applied research on specialized topics of the department, financed from various sources;
preparation of doctoral and candidate dissertations;
research work of undergraduate and graduate students;
preparation and publication of monographs, articles, collections of scientific papers;
organizing and conducting scientific events (conferences, seminars, round tables, etc.).
In recent years, the teachers of the department have been working to improve the pedagogical skills and scientific-theoretical potential, as well as improving the provision of disciplines of the department with educational and methodological literature. For this purpose, each teacher is working on the development of methodological guides, manuals, educational and methodical materials. complexes in their disciplines. Over the years of the department’s existence the staff has prepared and published 4 books, 20 educational and methodical developments, more than 150 scientific articles and prepared for publication 4 textbooks, popular science books and monographs.

Project Activities:
Many teachers and students of the department are participants of international programs and projects such as UICLAND on land degradation, most of the teachers and staff of the department have certificates from international organizations and have participated in various courses, seminars and presentations.
In the framework of the project, carried out with foreign partners of the department Dr. h.s.a.

of the chair were trained in flight schools at the leading European universities of foreign countries (Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Croatia, Slovakia). Department
actively participates in online seminars “Work shop” and conducted a web seminar on the topic: “Land Degradation in Kyrgyzstan”.
