
Mission Statement
The core mission of the Institute is to create the necessary conditions for high-quality and accessible education. We strive to preserve traditional classical systems while integrating the latest educational technologies and innovations. Our focus is on high-quality engineering, advanced construction practices, and exceptional design using modern materials and technologies.
History of the Institute
The Institute of Architecture and Construction is the cornerstone of the Osh Technological University. Its origins date back to 1963, when a General Technical Faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute was opened in Osh to train civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
- 1988: First full-time enrollment for the “Industrial and Civil Engineering” major.
- 1991: Launch of the correspondence (part-time) department and the establishment of the Engineering Faculty.
- 1996: Formation of the Faculty of Engineering and Construction.
- 2016: Renamed to the Faculty of Architecture and Construction.
- 2024: By the decision of the Academic Council and Rector’s Order (No. 09-04/404 dated July 2, 2024), the faculty was reorganized into the Institute of Architecture and Construction.
Since 1979, the Institute has produced over 5,000 highly qualified specialists working across various sectors of the national economy in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
Goals and Strategic Partnerships
The Institute maintains strong scientific and academic ties with leading universities, including:
- Kyrgyz State Technical University (KGTU)
- Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU)
- Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU)
- Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB)
- Fergana Polytechnic Institute and others.
In professional training, the Institute closely collaborates with regional state and private organizations, such as:
- Regional Departments of Architecture and Construction (Osh, Jalal-Abad, Batken)
- State Institute of Urban Planning (KNIIP)
- Oshgiprostroy and Oshgosarkhstroy-nadzor
- Aravan and Kyzyl-Kiya Cement Plants, Concrete and Asphalt Plants.
Under bilateral agreements, these enterprises serve as clinical bases for practical training, laboratory work, and professional internships for our students.

Faculty and Academic Staff
The Institute’s four departments are staffed by over 50 faculty members and academic support personnel. Our distinguished faculty includes Doctors and Candidates of Sciences (PhD), Professors, and Associate Professors. Among them are honored workers and excellence awardees in education, laureates of state prizes in science and technology, and esteemed members of the Union of Architects and Artists of the USSR and the Kyrgyz Republic.
International Integration and Academic Programs
To facilitate the integration of higher professional education into the global educational space, the Institute provides comprehensive training for highly qualified specialists, Master’s students, and PhD candidates in the following fields:

- 750500 – Construction (Civil Engineering)
- 570400 – Design
Student Body and Facilities
Currently, the Institute has an enrollment of over 1,500 students across full-time and correspondence (distance) learning formats, as well as more than 100 graduate students in Master’s programs.
We provide students and postgraduates with all the necessary resources for a world-class education, including:
- A modern library with extensive technical archives.
- Specialized training and production laboratories.
- Fully equipped classrooms and advanced computer labs.
- Professional design workshops and ateliers.
Regional Significance
Today, the Institute of Architecture and Construction of Osh Technological University stands as the sole institution in southern Kyrgyzstan dedicated to training highly qualified builders, architects, designers, structural engineers, and road construction specialists.
