In order to train highly qualified specialists, in 1963, by decision of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the USSR and the Kyrgyz SSR, the Osh General Technical Faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute was formed in the city of Osh.
By the end of 1977, a training and laboratory base was created at the department, which made it possible to conduct classes in all disciplines. During the period of activity of the department, a targeted educational system was created and end-to-end training of civil engineers began.
Currently, the Department of Construction Production trains and graduates the following qualified specialists in the field of Construction:
- Industrial and civil construction
- Building design
- Highways and airfields
- Expertise and property management
- Hydraulic engineering
Since 2016, the department, together with the master’s department of OshTU, has formed a master’s degree in the direction 750500 “Construction”.

The general theme of the department is earthquake-resistant construction.
Directions of scientific activity of the department “Construction Production”
- The use of polymer and composite building materials in civil engineering in Kyrgyzstan, scientific substantiation of their effectiveness.
- Scientific justification for the use of autonomous and energy-efficient buildings, reducing the number of utility networks in buildings and urban infrastructure to 3 key utility networks – cold water supply, wastewater, electrical networks.
The teaching staff of the department maintains inter-university relations with leading universities of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and are members of dissertation councils.
The department closely cooperates with construction organizations and companies, the Osh Regional Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, the Osh Center for Testing, Certification and Metrology, the Osh and Kara-Suu branches of the Land Resources Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Nurzaman Insurance Company, the Vision Group Insurance Company, SC “Ikhlas”, SC “Amanat City”, etc.
