The department was founded in 2005 by order of the rector of the Osh Technological University named after academician M.M. Adyshev to the College of Humanities and Technology. The sector of “General education and humanities” was created. In 2011, the sector was transformed into the Department of General Education and Humanities.
By order of the rector of OshTU No. 09-04/192 dated July 3, 2017, in connection with structural transformations, the department was renamed to the department of “Social Technologies and Social Sciences”.
The Department of “Social Technologies and Social Sciences” is a graduating department in the specialty:
040101 Social work.
030504 Law and organization of social security. The department is also responsible for providing teaching of humanities in all specialties of the college. Currently there are 17 teachers working at the department.
The material and technical base of the department and the equipment of the educational process comply with modern regulatory requirements. The department’s classrooms are equipped with modern technical teaching aids.
The teaching of the department’s subjects is carried out at the proper educational and methodological level using modern educational technologies and interactive teaching methods. The department pays special attention to organizing mutual visits to training sessions among teachers and conducting open lessons. Students trained by the department’s teachers achieve the best success at competitions between colleges, as well as at city subject competitions.
Study periods:
based on 11 classes – 1 year 10 months;
based on 9 classes – 2 years 10 months;
Correspondence course – 2 years and 4 months.
Qualification: “Social worker” and “Lawyer” are assigned to students who have completed training in the above specialties.

The educational activities of the department are carried out according to the plan of general educational activities, as well as according to the personal plans of the curators, and are aimed at improving the quality of student learning and improving their independence. In general, educational work is carried out both through the learning process and outside it.
