The Department of Economics was separated from the Faculty of Economics and Management of the College of Humanities and Technology in order to train specialists of economic profile and was established in August 2014 on the basis of Order No. 09-04/158. This department is considered a graduate department and trains specialists in specialities:

- 080106 Finance (by branches)
- 080501 Management (by branches)
This department provides teaching of subjects approved by the curricula in the directions in accordance with the licence for educational activities of secondary specialised vocational education and in accordance with the state educational standard.
The material and technical base of the department is equipped with equipment that meets modern requirements. For students studying in this direction, modern computer classes, interactive whiteboards, projects and a multimedia-information computer centre are used.
