With the increasing demand for the specialty “Accounting and Auditing” in the south of the Kyrgyz Republic, there was a need to open a department. The Department of Accounting and Auditing was organized in 1997 in accordance with Order No. 09-01/93 of the Rector of Osh Technological University dated June 27, 1997 on the basis of the Department of Commercial Activities and Accounting. The department has so far trained over 5,000 highly qualified specialists; graduates of the department make a significant contribution to the development of the economy, working in management positions, positions of chief accountant, accountant in many enterprises, organizations, institutions not only in the south of the Kyrgyz Republic, but throughout the republic. Based on the results of successful work, the department over its 25-year history was awarded the nomination “Best Department of OshTU” four times (in 2002, 2012, 2017, 2020 and 2023). The Department of Accounting and Audit was headed in 1997-2003 by Ph.D., Associate Professor. Uzenbaev R. A., in 2004 – Ph.D., Associate Professor. A., 2009-2020 Doctor of Economics, prof. Uzenbaev R.A. From August 2020 to the present, the department is headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Khamzaeva A.M. The department currently consists of 15 full-time teachers.
Areas of training
Currently, the Department of Accounting and Audit provides training for bachelors and masters in the profiles of Accounting, Analysis and Audit, Statistics, direction 580100 “Economics” and the Internet technology profile in accounting, analysis and audit, direction 710500 Internet technologies and management. Direction 580100 “Economics” passed international program accreditation, as a result of which it was accredited for a period of 5 years, and the educational ability and quality of education were recognized as meeting international requirements (Minutes of the Accreditation Council of the IAAR No. 59 dated June 11, 2021, reg. No. AB 3559, term validity of the certificate 06/11/2021 – 06/10/2026). Educational and methodological work
In the areas of training, the Basic Educational Program, the Graduate Model, the Working Curriculum, the Catalog of Elective Courses for the preparation of an individual curriculum for students have been compiled and updated, and teaching materials have been developed and improved in all disciplines assigned to the department. These educational documents undergo internal and external examination and are approved by employers.
The department has created all the conditions for quality education, namely: a computer class, specialized classrooms equipped with modern technical equipment, an electronic library and Internet access. The department’s book collection includes over 100 teaching aids and textbooks on specialized disciplines.
Research work
The research topic of the department is: “Research of the process of development of accounting, economic analysis and audit in Kyrgyzstan: theory, practice, methodology and methodology.” Postgraduate and doctoral students at the department carry out scientific research in the specialties 08.00.12 – accounting, statistics and 08.00.05. – economics and management of the national economy.
The qualitative composition of the department is 73%: 1 doctor of economic sciences, 2 professors of OshTU, 10 candidates of economic sciences, associate professors and 2 senior lecturers and 1 lecturer.
Material and technical base
To prepare bachelors in Economics, the department has created the following educational and material base: 12 classrooms for conducting lectures, practical and seminar classes (1/501, 1/503, 1/504, 1/507, 1/508, 1/509, 1/401, 1/402, 1/403, 1/405, 1/407, 1/409), 6 computer and Internet classes (1/502, 1/505, 1/506, 1/406, 1/407a, 1/407b), a multimedia center with a set of 80 modern, cutting-edge computers with free unlimited access to the Internet. To conduct practical classes, the 1 C Accounting application package is installed in the department’s computer class.
Master’s studies are a worthy continuation of quality education. A prestigious and sought-after master’s degree received at OshTU is a reliable foundation for a successful professional career! Master’s degree programs will begin in 2021. When entering a master’s program, a graduate of a bachelor’s or specialist’s degree chooses the master’s program of interest to him. Within the framework of this program, an appropriate profile can be selected that is consistent with the creative plans and interests of the future master. Currently, the Graduate School of Magistracy is recruiting and training full-time masters in the following areas: “Economics”, profiles “Finance and Credit”, “Accounting, Analysis and Audit”. All necessary permits have been obtained for these areas; there are conclusions from employers on the feasibility and necessity of training specialists in each of these areas. A feature of the proposed master’s training programs is their reliance on the established traditions of the university, the creative approach of the teaching staff to the use of best practices, the widespread use of practical materials, and the individualization of the learning process. Thanks to its personnel potential, the university attracts exclusively professors, doctors of science, as well as professionals of appropriate qualifications to the learning process, which allows us to The process of studying in the master’s program at the university involves three types of activities: training (listening to courses, taking exams, preparing and passing state exams), scientific and pedagogical practice (teaching work, conducting lectures and seminars), and research work (research work in semester, research practice, preparation of a master’s thesis). All these components are provided for in the main educational programs developed by university scientists in all specialties. All classes involve practical consolidation of the received theoretical material in the form of conducting business games and analyzing the conditions of specific economic situations. By taking part in such workshops, undergraduates gain valuable initial experience in conducting professional activities.
During the training process, undergraduates are instilled with leadership qualities, the ability to work in a team, and the ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment. Studying a foreign language contributes to a good assimilation of international experience in the chosen field and provides the opportunity for its subsequent use in practical work. The training schedule is drawn up taking into account the possibility of combining master’s studies and developing professional skills in practice.
Upon completion of the master’s program, graduates defend a master’s thesis, which is an independent scientific research carried out under the guidance of a supervisor. Articles written by undergraduates during their studies are published in the quarterly scientific and practical journal “Bulletin of OshTU”, which is registered in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). Obtaining a master’s degree means having the next, higher level of competencies, suggesting both the possibility of career growth and continuation of scientific activity. The latter is predetermined in the implementation of training using the principle of continuity of educational and scientific processes.

Conditions of education
The educational process in the master’s program at OshTU is organized in such a way that master’s students can combine study with work, while being full-time master’s students. Full-time education is structured according to a special schedule of the educational process: classes are held in the evening on weekdays. Duration of training – 2 years full-time, 2 years 6 months part-time. It is also possible to study additional disciplines as part of advanced training courses (with the issuance of a certificate). Upon completion of the program, graduates receive a state diploma of higher professional education (master’s degree). At the request of the graduate, a European Diploma Supplement is issued.
