In the Kyrgyz Republic, automobile transport is the main mode of transportation, accounting for 95% of cargo transportation and 97% of passenger transportation. Today, automobile transport remains one of the key sectors in the development of the socio-economic sector of the Kyrgyz Republic. Therefore, the issue of training highly qualified specialists is of great importance:
- in the field of automobile transport maintenance,
- in the training of specialists in cargo and passenger transportation,
- against the backdrop of the rapid development of hybrid-powered vehicles and electric cars worldwide, the training of “auto electricians” has become particularly significant.
At the Humanitarian-Technological College of Osh Technological University, the first enrollment of students in the specialty “Technical Maintenance and Repair of Automobile Transport” (190604) took place in 2004. The training of students was carried out based on the Department of “Technical Operation and Repair of Automobiles” of the Faculty of Automotive Transport (FAT) at OshTU. The head of the department was Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Abdurakhmanov Seit Kozhomberdievich.
By order of the Rector of OshTU No. 07-02/55 dated 30.06.2011, the “Auto Service” sector was established, and Senior Lecturer Kochkarov Anvarzhan Ergashovich was appointed as the head of the sector.
In 2013, the specialty “Organization of Transportation and Transport Management” was introduced at the Faculty of Automotive Transport (FAT) at OshTU, based on the “Organization of Transportation” department. The head of the department was Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Kadyrkulov Adylbek Kozubekovich.
By order of the Rector of OshTU No. 07-02/63 dated 23.09.2014, the specialties 190604 “Technical Maintenance and Repair of Automobile Transport” and 190701 “Organization of Transportation and Transport Management” were merged into the “Transport” sector. Senior Lecturer Abdimatov Ulan Isaevich was appointed as the head of the sector.
In 2015, a license was obtained to train students in the specialty “Operation of Transport Electrical Equipment and Automation” (Auto Electrician).
By order of the Rector of OshTU No. 07-02/60 dated 31.05.2016, the “Transport,” “Descriptive Geometry,” and “Professional Training” sectors were merged into the “Automobile Transport” department. The head of the department was Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Kadyrkulov Adylbek Kozubekovich.
From 2019 to 2025, the “Automobile Transport” department was headed by Senior Lecturer Abdimatov Ulan Isaevich.
By order of the Rector of OshTU No. 09-04/404 dated 02.07.2024, the “Automobile Transport” department was transformed into the Subject-Cycle Association for Automobile Transport.
From January 21, 2025, to the present day, Sydykov Nuradin Asanbayevich has been appointed as the head of the Subject-Cycle Association for Automobile Transport.

The Department of Automobile Transport is a single unit, which includes 6 classrooms, 1 computer class, a training and laboratory complex for carrying out a number of repair and familiarization works on car maintenance, and a class of diploma and course design

The Department of Automobile Transport is a graduate department that trains technicians and electrical mechanics for the automotive industry in the following specialties:
- 190604. “Maintenance and repair of motor transport”;
- 190701. “Organization of transportation and management of transport” (by mode of transport, except for air transport);
- 190503. “Operation of electrical and automatic transport equipment” (by mode of transport, except for water transport).
