“Department of Mathematics and Statistics” of humanitarian technological college was established by the order of the rector of OshTU on October 2, 2012 No. 09-04/218 based on the decision of the Academic Council of OshTU. Since 2012, the department of MaS has been headed by cand. of ped.sc., associate professor G.A. Zikirova.
The specialties being prepared by the department
The department conducts the activities of admission and preparation of students in the following specialties:
080601 – “Statistics” (qualification – economist).
050709 – Teaching in primary classes (qualification – primary school teacher).
Study periods:
on the basis of the 11th grade – 1 year and 10 months;
on the basis of the 9th grade – 2 years and 10 months;
Part-time department – 2 years and 4 months.
Educational and methodological works
In accordance with the approved educational methods of the department, methodological guidelines for course work and diploma work were developed and approved by the Methodological Council.

Educational activities in the department are carried out according to the plan of general educational activities, as well as personal plans of curators, and are aimed at increasing the quality of education of students and improving their independence. In general, educational work is carried out both through the learning process and beyond it.
Curatorial work includes the following tasks:
- Creating a plan of educational activities for the current school year.
- appointment of supervisors and creation of group assets, introducing students to the curriculum of the specialty.
- to acquaint the students with the rules of the college.
- organizing and conducting talks on various organizational and educational topics.
- participation of students in events held by the college.
- maintaining work order and internal order.
- work with students living in hostels and apartments.
Research activities:
In 2023, head of Department Zikirova G.A, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic “Scientific-methodical foundations of teaching mathematics at two levels of vocational training at the technical higher education institution”. The department includes 1 candidate of science, 11 masters, 15 teachers, 1 engineer-programmer. During the last year, the teachers of the department A.A. Tashtemirova, M.M. Jusueva, Kushbak kyzy G, have successfully completed postgraduate studies and are constantly continuing their research in her scientific direction.
Cooperation of the department with higher educational institutions:
There is a mutual cooperation between the department of “MaS” and the industrial-pedagogical college of Osh State University and the innovative college “Muras”.
Activities of the department:
Every year, the department team discusses with employers and parents the procedures of the lessons in the curriculum, the content of the manual of the educational methodological complexes, passing industrial and pre-diploma practice.
Round tables and conferences are organized and held with students, with the participation of leading managers and experienced specialists.
