Educational program in computer science and computing technology
In 2025, in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of Osh Technological University dated June 27, 2025, on the implementation of pilot educational programs, as well as in accordance with the regulations on the educational program of OshTU and its director (Order No. 338-ӨБ dated 03.09.2025), an educational program in the field of computer science and computing technology was approved and implemented. Nurgul Kozubekovna Kadyrkulova, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor at OshTU, was appointed head of the educational program in computer science and computing technology.
Since 2012, the educational program 710100 “Computer Science and Computing” (IIT) has been training bachelors, since 2013, under program 520500 “Cartography and Geoinformatics” — masters, and since 2015, it has been training masters in the field of 544319 “Computer Science and Programming Technologies” (ITP) for students who have completed other specialties, and since 2022, doctoral students have been trained in the field of 520500 “Cartography and Geoinformatics” (PhD).
Brief history of the department
By the order of Kyrgyz Republic Public Education Ministry the Department of Electronics and Computing Technique was founded by March 6, 1990 on the basis of Osh Evening Faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute, which was headed by the Candidate of Technical Sciences A.A. Sarymsakov. On September 9, 1997, the Department was renamed as the Department of “Informatics and computer technology”. At that time, the Department was headed by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Nazarov M.M. On April 24, 2000 by the order of OshTU’s Rector No. 09-04/62, the Department of Computing Technology was created on the basis of the Department of Informatics and Computing Technique, and it headed by Mansurov K.T. until 2010. April 7, 2004 by order No. 09-04/125 on the basis of Protocol No. 5, at meeting of the Scientific Council of the University of the Department of CT was renamed as the Department of SCTAS. Currently the Department of SCTAS is headed by Candidate of Physical Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Kutunaev Zh.N.
EP 710100 -“Informatics and computer technology”
The educational program of Osh Technological University on the direction of 710100- “Informatics and computing technique” is carried out in accordance with the state license for the right to conduct educational activities, and applications to a license issued by the decision of the State Inspectorate for the Licensing and Certification of Institutions of Education of Kyrgyz Republic Ministry of Education and Science No. 55 reg. No. III-55, protocol No. 09/06 dated 06/18/2012. ((until 06/18/17, with 200 students, and extended to an unlimited license No. LD170000223, dated 02.28.2017 with 100 students). Implemenetation of the educational program in the direction of 710100- “Informatics and computer technology” fully complies with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republics in the field of education, including the state educational standard of higher vocational education of the direction 710100- “Informatics and computing technology” approved by the order of the Kyrgyz Republic Ministry of Education and Science No. 1179/1 of September 15, 2015 (as well as the State Budgetary Institution, approved by order of the Ministry of Education and science of the Kyrgyz Republic of September 21, 2021, No. 1578/1). The training staff according to the EP 710100- “Informatics and computer technology” has been carried out in OshTU since 1992. Since 2016 graduates of EP are assigned the qualification of Bachelor. The term of training: based on secondary general education 4 years (only the daytime department); On the basis of secondary vocational education 3 years (only the daytime department). Training is carried out in Russian. OshTU completely owns academic resources for the implementation of educational activities for accredited EP. The Department of SCTAS was developed and approved by the MEP (MEP -2017, PEP -USA 2022), which contains the goals, the expected results (ORO-2017, ORO-2022) and the list of competencies. Based on the MEP, a graduate model was developed (a graduate model-2017, a graduate-2022 model). The purpose of the accredited EP 710100- “Informatics and computing technique” is to ensure the qualitative training of competitive specialists of the modern labor market in the field of software and hardware of computing systems and networks, automated information and management processing systems with sufficient knowledge and the level of competence in the practical use of computing Techniques and information technologies necessary for solving professional problems.
Research work
Research work is one of the priority areas of the formation of a single educational space of OshTU, based on ensuring the close relationship of fundamental science, education and professional environment of future specialists. Improving the quality of the educational process, research and scientific-methodological work is considered by the leadership of the university as a strategic task and tool for ensuring viability, sustainable development and prosperity of the university in the future. Research work of the TS of the Department of SCTAS is reflected in the publications of scientific works, in the participation of international conferences of teachers of the department, corresponding to the national policy of the state in the field of education, science and innovative development.
