ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
The Institute of International Relations, Law and Education aims to ensure quality assurance in education based on a competency-based approach, as well as to train and educate highly qualified scientific-pedagogical, social, and industrial specialists with high intellectual potential for the development of the Kyrgyz Republic in such fields as applied mathematics and informatics, computer linguistics, linguistics, vocational education, international relations, social work, and jurisprudence.
HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTE
The history of the Institute dates back to March 1991, when the Engineering and Pedagogical Faculty was established within the Osh Higher Technological College. The first admission of applicants in pedagogical and humanitarian specialties took place in 1991.
In September 1994, the faculty was reorganized into the “Information Technology” Faculty.
In September 2000, two faculties were established on the basis of the “Information Technologies” Faculty:
- The Faculty of Cybernetics and Information Technologies;
- The Faculty of Fundamental and Vocational Education.
On December 23, 2003, by the Rector’s order, the Faculty of Fundamental and Vocational Education was renamed the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences.
According to the Rector’s Order No. 09-04/404 dated July 2, 2024, the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences was reorganized into the Industrial and Pedagogical Institute.
On October 7, 2025, the Industrial and Pedagogical Institute was renamed the Institute of International Relations, Law and Education.
Over its 34 years of activity, the Institute has trained nearly 20,000 specialists in applied mathematics and informatics, vocational education, social work, international relations, business administration, jurisprudence, linguistics, and computer linguistics.
THE INSTITUTE TODAY
The Institute comprises four departments employing more than 40 staff members, including 3 Doctors of Science, Professors, 13 Candidates of Science, Associate Professors, and 20 Master’s degree holders.
Scientific research in the areas of improving the quality of education, socio-economic development of the region, and development of industrial technologies is carried out by 4 doctoral students, 12 postgraduate students, and 10 PhD doctoral candidates.
Currently, the Institute has 863 undergraduate students and 45 master’s degree students.
In order to improve the quality of education and train competitive specialists, strong partnerships have been established and are being strengthened with employers, as well as with leading national and international higher education institutions.
