Applied Research Design for Beginners

Applied Research Design for Beginners

The Institute of Public Policy and Administration (IPPA), at the University of Central Asia (UCA), announces its training programme in Applied Research Design for Beginners for prospective candidates. The programme commences on May 21st, 2018 at UCA in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, and is targeted towards independent analysts and staff at think-tanks, civil servants, and non-governmental organisations who wish to acquire applied research skills.

This course will teach learners the basics of designing applied research projects. In contrast to academic or fundamental research, that seeks to answer universal questions, applied researchers’ job is to generate answers to solve specific down-to-earth problems that someone is facing using sound evidence and logic. This is a valuable skill increasingly sought after by organizations and employers across all sectors. Course participants will learn: (1) what is applied research, (2) its uses, and (3) how to design applied research projects.
