Historical Overview
The history of the institute began in 1963 with the opening of the evening faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute in Osh, providing general technical training for students.
- 1976: The specialty “Electrification of Industry, Cities, and Agriculture” was established.
- 1991: The department of “Electrification and Automation of Agriculture” was organized.
- 2000: The Faculty of “Energy and New Energy Technologies” was created, later becoming the Energy Faculty in 2007.
- May 2024: The Energy and Automobile faculties merged to form the Institute of Energy and Transport. Professor Nurkul Abdilazizovich Murzakulov was appointed as the Director.

Institute Activities and Facilities
The primary mission of the institute is to train highly qualified engineering personnel. The faculty consists of 8 Professors, 1 Doctor of Sciences, 21 Candidates of Sciences (PhD), and 24 Associate Professors.
The institute maintains 18 fully equipped training laboratories, a modern computer lab, a training ground, and specialized lecture halls. All facilities are equipped with modern, operational machinery to ensure practical mastery of the subjects.
Currently, the institute collaborates with numerous universities and energy enterprises across Kyrgyzstan and the CIS. Graduates are successfully employed in all sectors of the national and regional power grids.
