
In 1991, the Department of Machine Mechanics and Engineering Graphics was reorganized into the Engineering Graphics Sector.
By decision of the Academic Council of Osh Technical University and orders of the rector dated January 22, 1998, No. 09-01/07, the Department of Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphics was established as part of the Faculty of Energy and Transport.
From 2014 to the present, the department has been headed by Almazbek Askerovich Toktosunov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.
In 1915, the department was renamed the Department of Descriptive Geometry and Graphic Design and began enrolling students in the Design 570400 program, specializing in Graphic Design and Interior Design, for both full-time and part-time study.
Currently, the department employs outstanding educators and distinguished cultural figures, two associate professors from Osh Technical University, one candidate of sciences, two members of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Kyrgyz Republic, four master’s degree holders, one engineer-programmer, and experienced teachers to train future designers.
In 2024, the department successfully passed accreditation for five years at the NIARS agency.
Since the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year, the department has been attached to the Institute of Architecture and Construction.
