REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates for a fellowship should hold a university degree, or have attained a comparable qualification in the field of education. We also welcome applications from people who are involved in the writing of textbooks or employed by textbook publishers, as well as those whose activities in the field of education are concerned with curricula and textbooks.
  • The work to be undertaken during the fellowship must be conducive to the Institute's own work or projects in the field of international textbook research. Some fellowships are reserved for individuals who conduct projects affiliated with the Institute. 
  • The Institute may occasionally offer fellowships attached to a specific topic on a competitive basis. 

APPLICATIONS FOR A FELLOWSHIP SHOULD INCLUDE

  • the complete fellowship application form (cover letter)
  • a CV, containing details of the candidate's professional background and/or academic career to date, including information on his/her current position and language skills 
  • a list of publications
  • a one- to three-page outline of the proposed research topic, describing its aims and methodology 
  • a specific list of the primary and/or secondary literature which the candidate wishes to study at the Institute; this documents the importance of a research stayat the GEI

The fellowships will be advertised every year starting June 15th. Applications for a fellowship to be taken up in a particular year should be submitted by 1 September of the preceding year (as one pdf-file to Этот адрес электронной почты защищён от спам-ботов. Please note that this year’s application deadline is two weeks earlier than in previous years!
Fellowship holders are expected to enter into discussion of their findings with the academic staff of the Institute. Where appropriate, they will also have the opportunity to initiate contact with any other institutions or specialists who might support their research.
The period covered by the fellowship must be spent working at the Institute.
Fellowship holders are requested to submit a report (1-2 pages) detailing the work conducted after completion of their research. One free copy of any publications that may result from their research at the Institute must be sent to the Institute's library.

Amount and duration of fellowship

Fellows receive a monthly stipend of 1000 EUR. Fellowships are usually awarded for a period of one to one-and-a-half months, with a minimum duration of two weeks. The Georg Eckert Institute will not automatically reimburse travel expenses. Nevertheless, fellows may apply for a travel allowance, which may be granted, provided funds are available, in cases of demonstrable need. The allowance will cover up to 50% of the fellow's travel expenses, to a maximum of 500 EUR. Fellowship holders must ensure that they are covered by adequate health insurance for the duration of their stay.

Support for research - UWIN Best Paper Award

Welcome to UniCredit & Universities!

22 December 2016 - Now open the 7th UWIN Best Paper Award on Gender Economics. The competition aimed at all young economists and researchers from the 15 countries belonging to the geographical area of UniCredit to reward the two best papers on gender economics.

1. be either citizens of all 15 countries where UniCredit is present or currently employed or enrolled in a Ph.D. program at a university or institution located in any of these 15 countries within the geographical area of UniCredit
2. be born after 1981

The aim of IUCLAND is to foster Universities international cooperation among partner institutions through the implementation of training programmes (in the form of summer schools and workshops) dedicate to the topic of Land Degradation.

In particular, along its three years implementation period, the IUCLAND project consortium pursues the following goals:

  • to substantially increase the quantity and quality of the international education in land degradation curricula in EU and Asiatic Country,
  • to provide MSc and PhD students critical thinking skills in the arena of Soil Monitoring and Soil Protection, and
  • to build and improve mutually beneficial, collaborative relationships among all the partner universities to facilitate research, higher education, and outreach in the areas of natural resource management.

В настоящее время университет осуществля¬ет тесные партнерские связи с высшими учеб¬ными заведениями ряда зарубежных стран, организует обмен опытом между студентами и преподавателями этих вузов. Увеличивается количество студентов направляемых на учебу в вузы Кореи, Китая, Германии, США, Тур¬ции и других государств. Более 70 студентов зарубежных стран обучаются в ОшТУ. Они прибыли к нам из Пакистана, Китая, Кореи, России, Туркменистана, Таджикистана, Ка-захстана, Узбекистана. Кроме того на кафедре государственного и русского языков открыты курсы обучения кыргызского и русского язы¬ков для иностранных граждан. В данное вре¬мя на этих курсах обучаются студенты, при¬бывшие из Кореи, Китая, Филиппин.

В декабре 2013 года стартовал новый проект Темпус «Усиление центров карьеры в университетах Центральной Азии». Первым действием по проекту со стороны ОшТУ было участие в стартовом семинаре, проходившем в период с 17 по 26 марта 2014 года.
